ISFED Monitored Presidential Elections of Georgia in Afghanistan
On October 20, 2013, observer of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy monitored the course of voting by Georgian armed forces participating ISAF (International Security Assistance Forces) at the elections precinct N1 in Afghanistan.
ISFED’s monitor reported that the elections were conducted peacefully, without any procedural violations.
We believe that realization of the Constitutional right of Georgian armed forces participating in ISAF operations in Afghanistan is important. Notably, the Central Elections Commission and the Georgian Ministry of Defense took all measures to ensure as much as possible that polling was conducted in an organized manner, without any violations.
