Femicide and Related Challenges in Georgia
Femicide is an extreme form of violence, which puts not only fundamental human rights but also women’s life at risk. Even though such crimes vary in different social and cultural settings, femicide is a global phenomenon that has reached alarming proportions.
The present research is an attempt to provide an overview of legislative safeguards criminalizing gender-based violence and femicide in Georgia, identify problems that exist in practice in that respect and elaborate recommendations.
